Impressionist, Painterly. / True red head flirting with you. / Digital painting is an emerging art form in which traditional painting techniques such as watercolor, oils, etc. are applied using digital tools by means of a computer, a digitizing tablet and stylus, and software. Digital painting differs from other forms of digital art, particularly computer-generated art, in that it does not involve the computer rendering from a model. The artist uses painting techniques to create the digital painting directly on the computer. / I create the painting, directly on my PC, by using a Wacom tablet, a stylus pen and ArtRage painting software. The Wacom tablet can be compared to a canvas or watercolor paper surface. The stylus pen is my paintbrush.
OK, I know this isn’t my favourite medium, but this was an experiment in Corel Painter and my Wacom tablet (using a stylus is the closest I can get to actual painting) I used a reference photo I took to capture the same palette, and then used the stylus in a variety of felt pen thicknesses to get the rough outlines and base tones, I never got round to finishing this to the detail I can achieve in graphite, which is probably why I have kept it hidden for so long.

...think I’m turning into a Borg lol! half machine half human where willl all this technology end??? ...The Borg manifest as cybernetically enhanced humanoid drones of multiple species, organized as an interconnected collective, the decisions of which are made by a hive mind, linked to subspace domain. The Borg inhabit a vast region of space in the Delta Quadrant of the galaxy, possessing millions of vessels and having conquered thousands of systems. They operate solely toward the fulfilling of one purpose: to “add the biological and technological distinctiveness of other species to their own” in pursuit of perfection. This is achieved through forced assimilation, a process which transforms individuals and technology into Borg, enhancing, and simultaneously controlling, individuals by implanting or appending synthetic components. ..finished after midnight layered the photo of water put it thru’ flexify – changed colours gradients on/ bezier pen tool /drew the skull and cloned painted enhanced ..then added lights textures opacity etc; .......

The 5th in the Crown Of Thorns series. Dan came back for more, this time with the blooded palm. Don’t worry, it wasn’t my blood… The image of Dan was layered and filtered and then converted to black and white with the “blood” retaining its colour. I then added this to a texture layer and overlayed it so I could erase part of Dan to blend it in with the texture a little bit more cleanly. All my own pictures.
Just a pet dog that saw whilst on my travels. EOS 30D

Dan is very patriotic and he jumped at the chance to use the St. Georges Cross in some shots. The title comes from a tattoo Dan has on his arm. Layers and filters, sepia toned with an added texture and some selective colouring.
Our Australian cousins have themselves a portrait group and we thought it would be nice to have one for us Brits. We have decided to extend the boundaries beyond photography, however, and want to see portraits from other media, including oils, acrylics, pastels, pencils, pixels etc.
There is a limit of 3 images per 24 hours. Please, no blurry family snap type pictures. These will be rejected without explaination.
