Found these ladies in the Boston Common, and yes, they are very much alive! Everytime someone would put a donation in their basket, the captain would spin the wheel and the first mate would spin her arms and change positions. Other than that they were perfectly still. They very rarely changed expressions, but the first mate did give a hint of a smile when I kept taking more photo’s.
