The Challenge

Read the rules. Your image WILL be removed if it does not abide by the rules. No exceptions.

Your image must have gold in it. Please note that Yellow is not Gold and images will not be accepted with yellow in them UNLESS there is gold in them too.

1. Images for the challenge must be NEW images taken for the challenge.

2. Must be a member of the group at the time the challenge closes.

3. Please submit the image to the group art pool as well. If it is not something we would accept there then we wont accept it in the challenge and it will be removed. Don’t stress, just enter something else! :)

4. If your image would be hard to tell what it is please write a little description about it so we can tell what it is.

5. No flowers will be allowed in this challenge.

We want you to put on your thinking caps, grab your cameras and see what you can find! We are running this challenge for 20 days so you will have plenty of time to take some shots :)

Judging / Voting Criteria

Standard group submission policy will be our voting criteria:

1. The image has to have an out of focus (blur) area.
2. There can be no sharp edges in the blur area.
3. Is the background pleasing and does it add to (and not distract from) the overall image?
4. Points of light that are blurred in an image should not be the entire deciding factor on if an image should be voted on or not.

Some examples of distractions could be sticks, blades of grass, structures, trees, etc. that are too in focus (or sharp) and/or that draw your attention away from the focal point.

Rewards & Prizes

Winner will be featured on the group front page and the winning image will be our groups avatar until the next challenge is closed.

1st place, 2nd place, 3rd place and runner up will also be announced in a group email.
