Down on the Aegean Sea the Turkish city of Bodrum represents Turkey and its beauty well. This bench sits along a fortified wall and offers respite to weary walkers.

Was walking along and saw this book next to a lamp post. I’m a bit shy about taking photos so decided not to take a picture of it as some woman was walking towards me. I carried on walking and looked back when she passed me only to see her pick it up, much to my annoyance. Then I headed back in the direction I came from to see that she had decided to leave it in this bus stop. / So I got a shot in the end. Taken in Lincoln, near the prison and the hospital on my Sony Ericsson K800i mobile phone.
Taken in Blue Ridge Georgia with my Nikon d60

For bird watching in the area in the Black Isle in Scotland. Canon 350D
A cold bench with a beautiful view on the Black Isle in Scotland. Taken on my first outing with Canon 350D
Taken with a Canon 50D, Sigma 10-20 lens at 10mm, F11, shutter speed 1/15 second, ISO100, processed in Photoshop On Monday I went for a walk with the dynamic duo of Jason Connolly and Jamie Green near High Dam in the Lake District. The weather was overcast for the first hour but then we were greeted with wonderful autumnal sunshine. This is a view from Stott park overlooking the middle of Windermere. The title refers to Mr Cs annoyance that I got a shot of the bench in sunlight, when he arrived at this spot the sun would not come out….I did not hear the end of it for the rest of the walk…lol!! A homeless person I saw while driving, not the best image but it is real life.. can barely make out the foot and knee on the right side of the baggage’s. taken in Northern California / canon 50D w/28-135mm ALL Proceeds from this image and any other homeless image, will go to help the homeless. weather I give to an individual on the street or make donations to a shelter and so on, whenever God tells me. I don’t expect everyone to believe me.—but there are and will be many more people homeless in America to come. It is time we help our own. I have always given to people in need one way or another. Now I am hoping to help even more with the support of others.. even if you don’t buy any of these. I hope people will find it in their hearts to help their fellow men, women and children in our tough times. your reward will be even greater in the end, even just buying someone a lunch is a great feeling. I try not to judge, only help. even if its just a conversation, letting someone know you care can be a life changing event.
If a photograph is worth a thousand words, a photograph of a bench can be worth a book. The Benches Group is the place for such artwork, where we share our representations and responses. It is for artwork of seating for 2 or more people, as opposed to a seat or a chair, as the emotions involved are looking at relationships – between each other and with our environment, especially an environment for a bench and its occupants created to last.
We love having new members, so if you’d like to join our benchmark group, please take time to read our Rules & Guidelines
Please note that we do not accept artwork without an accompanying Description.
In our third closerun challenge with some wonderful bench entries this infectiously feelgood image is the clear winner ..
Well done Barbara and to everyone for posting your great work here
