Perhaps forty feet from the water’s edge against a craggy seawall in Positano, Italy, this woman found shade and an empty bench to begin her knitting. Her time and weathered hands seemed to say that this has been a life time passion, with one more day to add a few inches to her experience.

If a photograph is worth a thousand words, a photograph of a bench can be worth a book. The Benches Group is the place for such artwork, where we share our representations and responses. It is for artwork of seating for 2 or more people, as opposed to a seat or a chair, as the emotions involved are looking at relationships – between each other and with our environment, especially an environment for a bench and its occupants created to last.
We love having new members, so if you’d like to join our benchmark group, please take time to read our Rules & Guidelines
Please note that we do not accept artwork without an accompanying Description.
In our third closerun challenge with some wonderful bench entries this infectiously feelgood image is the clear winner ..
