There are many tales of the old man in the tree, but I envisioned something different. Instead of age, the tree provides youth, femininity and life out of the darkness. To this the woman brings story and mystery. The scenes were carefully set up in a virtual world to bring out this story. The big problem with this series was to gain the proper lighting to bring out life out of darkness. UM09

The Nothing That Is” is part of the Winter collection…this is a complicated thought…Winter is indeed something, as we know here in the North…most people would say that Winter is white, but in the city we have the reflections of all the colour in the buildings and lights that the snow reflects…but most of all the joys of winter, I think, should be portrayed in brilliant colour…the stark white of the birches pop against the blues and purples, and there is a little green and gold to remind us that the earth is still alive underneath. / In the face of all that winter is, Man himself becomes “Nothing” and “Beholds Nothing that is not there, and sees the Nothing that is”... Watercolor , ink and pastel on Canton Paper / This work has 921 views to date 21/11/09 FEATURED IN THE AVANT-GUARDE GROUP Finally, I have finished my drawing of Nikki, and I have to say I am wrapt. I hope Nikki is also. / Now for those who don’t know my technique, first I design the composition on photoshop using my models, or muses who send me their faces. Then after that I sketch up the drawing onto a large scale A1 or larger piece of paper. Tape it to the easel and away I go. First it starts with graphite, then ink, then watercolour, then pastels, then conte and a touch of pastel here and there and VOILA! I might enter this in a competition which I have been invited to go into in Fitzroy, not sure if to enter this one or other Lady in Landscape. Please let me know what you think of this drawing in comparison to my digital mock up…some say why do a drawing at all when the digital is just as good. But I hope I have added some artistic freedom to the piece and its not exactly the same. If you would like to be a muse let me know. Thanks for looking . He Finally Found the Clitoris..... by darkvampire

According to a recent survey by Diva magazine, most men still don’t know where the clitoris is. / —-—-—-—-—-—-—-—-—-—-— / EXPLANATION: HUH?? Not exactly necessary, but I just wanted to point out for those who are horrified by anything sexual, that the foam on the model’s lips is toothpaste. In the manip it represents saliva. Avant-Garde Art is a conscious effort to display works by artists all over the world! This group was created specifically to highlight Contemporary Artistry and cultivate relationships between avant-garde artists.
