Girl and Boy Reading Book You may give them your love but not your thoughts, / For they have their own thoughts. / You house their bodies but not their souls, / For their souls dwell in the house of tomorrow, / which you cannot visit, not even in your dreams. / You may strive to be like them, but seek not / to make them like you. / For life goes not backward nor tarries / with yesterday. / You are the bows from which your children / as living arrows are sent forth. These lights are actually part of a bridge linking two sections of a department store in central Milan, Italy. During the day the bridge looks like a glass walkway but at night it is transformed into what looks like a nightclub dancefloor! This is actually a light fitting making up the ceiling within the food court of the Italian version of Harrods which is directly opposite Duomo in central Milan. I liked it immediately and proceeded to get some very strange and confused looks from people! Frankly I thought it was more strange that someone would pay £300 for a bottle of water…. I am a missionary and was born in Northern Ireland and now live in London. My passion and inspiration to work and help these precious poor is born from my personal relationship with God. his love and mercy changed my life completely in 1986. 50 of the 64 children from this village have never gone to school. Mary is 12 years old and she cares for her younger brother. She never has gone to school like most in Tunga/Zuga village. I called this photograph “what If”. What if someone paid the £70 -$120. per year for her school fees, uniform and text books?. What if someone wanted to give Mary a future where she could learn to read, write, and what if Mary learned skills that would earn her money and she could help her younger brother also to go to school? / What if Mary had the change to be what she wants to be, a Nurse? What if someone took the what if and made it all possible for her?. ALL MONEY RAISED FROM SALE OF MY ART, AND DONATIONS MADE VIA OUR CHARITY WEBSITE, GOES TO HELP THESE PRECIOUS CHILDREN. Lion Rampant engraved into the wall of Torosay Castle, Mull. The symbol of a lion has been used as a heraldic device for many centuries by Scottish Kings. William I of Scotland (1165 -1214 ) was known as ‘The Lion’ after he introduced the lion symbol into his coat of arms. The Scottish lion has always been shown, on the royal shield, as being Rampant, ie: shown standing erect on the hind legs with the head in profile and forelegs extended. Torosay is a spectacular 150 year old Scottish baronial style castle surrounded by magnificent and unique gardens, just a mile from the ferry pier at Craignure on the south- east of the Isle of Mull. The castle is connected to Craignure by its very own narrow gauge steam railway which is a lovely way to travel! Torosay Castle was completed in 1858 by the Architect David Bryce in the Scottish Baronial style. Bryce also designed the Bank of Scotland building on the Mound in Edinburgh, and the imposing Fettes College. Taken with Canon 450D & Canon 18-55mm IS Lens Please view large!
