The idea of Carbon Trading as a way of addressing pollution is just starting. I feel that it will have the opposite effect than that which is required. Granted some plantations may get planted, but the sale of credits to polluters who simply continue to pollute is already occuring.

This is just another flawed capital venture that will make the rich even richer, give a false perception that the pollution issue is being addressed, and will in the long run simply create more pollution and a mind set that says that it is OK because someone else is selling them credits.

Free up all the patents that have been brought by the Oil Industry and Motor Vehicle Industry.

Strenghthen the powers of the Environment Protection Agencies.

Empower the International Court to act in matters of pollution, and make all nations, including the greatests polluters ( The USA, China, Australia, Russia, tec. etc. ) truely punishable for breaches.

The United Nations must become the global watch dog and court that the world needs and has been led to believe is there. Make the politicians and corporate heads accountable at law.
