Santiago, capital city of Chile. This is the view from the top of the look out at St Lucia Park. The building that leads the climb to the top is seen in World Forgotten. There is nothing like being in a city and being able to see snow capped mountain tops in the near distance. (45 bus ride takes you to the Andes Mountains). As incredible a place as Santiago is, the city has unfortunately been built in a valley, which has trapped the smog and pollution over the years. The view of the Andes, as seen here, is slowly being obliterated by the smokey sky. After speaking with a few locals, they are predicting only 10 – 20 years until the view is faded away to smog totally. It will be a sad day indeed, when the Andes can’t be seen at such a short distance. Not my usual subject matter. The inspiration for “Big Brother is Plugged In” came to me during a trip to a suburban area in Texas. I was surprised at the number of cameras. At least one on every street corner! Scary! / The outer eye is actually a fractal created in Apophysis 2.08. The Eye was created in Poser 6, the Sky and Ground created in Vue 7 esprit. Post work in Photoshop 2009 The reflection in the eye is of a man in his bathrobe walking out to get the morning paper.

miniature drawing 3”x4”, ink pen / -dry humour on the future of technology! Stamp size competition, Japan. The ladders are organic trees & the one leaf is the birthday candle of regrowth. The mother earth rebirths more planets to explore. A whole traditional organic cycle of regrowth… spawning her way to uncertainty. Sorry for lack of techno equip, but I will reinvent the wheel soon! My son’s working on it! / Oh and I’ll go pro, maybe! It’s very convincing out there. PS: I didn’t win. A very old copy of the original on the back of manuscript paper.

‘The’ more I look at this shot, ‘the’ less ‘the’ word makes sense. It’s just sitting there… so alone. ‘The’ word ‘the’ is so strong and necessary yet so underappreciated. It humbly carries so many other sexier and more flashy words on it’s frail little back and gets none of ‘the’ glory. Truly, ‘the’ is ‘the’ working class hero of ‘the’ english language. Here’s to thee, ‘the’! as seen in my calendar reality edited /

A symbolic representation of global injustice and abuse towards 3rd world people that the advance economies and global corporations commit with their policies. THE SCENE:The hand of God (taken from the Creation of Adam by Michelangelo) is offering a malnourished child the apple inc. logo in place of much needed food. THE INSPIRATION: Our demand for cell phones and computer chips is helping fuel a bloody civil war in the Democratic Republic of Congo. An ore called Columbite-tantalite one of the world’s most sought-after materials…It sells for $100 a pound, and it’s becoming increasingly vital to modern life. For the high-tech industry, tantalum is magic dust, a key component in everything from mobile phones made by Nokia (NOK) and Ericsson and computer chips from Intel (INTC) to Sony (SNE) stereos and VCRs. Full article at: http://www.globalissues.org/article/442/guns-money-and-cell-phones. DISCLAIMER: This scene is not against a specific corporation.but rater it is satire on our excessive superficial dependencies on technology and other nonessential modern elements at the expense of our neighbors in this small planet.
