Here is his story!

This bunny picture was taken outside of my office on a rainy morning and the data is

Make: Canon
Model: Canon EOS DIGITAL REBEL XTi
Shutter Speed: 1/200 second
F Number: F/5.6
Focal Length: 400 mm
ISO Speed: 100
Date Picture Taken: Apr 18, 2008, 9:48:14 AM

I work as Environmental scientist for my tribe T’Sou-ke as their environmental coordinator. In my work I set up scientific studies that research the environments condition in T’Sou-ke Nation traditional territory including water quality testing for pollution in salmon habitat, mapping of endangered species and gathering traditional ecological knowledge on traditional uses of native plants for food and medicine.

My photography is taken on Vancouver Island, British Columbia Canada. Vancouver Island is the location of both my tribes with my Grandfathers tribe T’Sou-ke with traditional territory around the city of Sooke and my grandmother’s tribe lekwammen that have traditional territory around the Cities of Colwood, Langford and Victoria.

My photography started out from me taking pictures at work for field descriptions and document endangered plants. Being an artist and a geek I wanted more out of the simple point and shoot camera my work provided for me so I saved up for my first dslr a canon 400d and it has been about 6 months since I first got it. I view my photography as a way of showing the natural world around me and bring awareness to these animals, plants and locations, all of which have been sacred to my tribe for countless generations
