Lets give a warm welcome to our newest Featured Member, AngiNelson

Tell us about yourself (name, where you live, where you are from, family, etc.)
Angi Nelson
I am a Geordie, which means I was born in Newcastle upon Tyne, in the north east of the UK, a wonderfully diverse city. Unfortunately I now live in the south of the UK but make regular trips home to see family and friends.

Favorite artistic medium:
I’m a creative soul and not only enjoy photography, but also water colour and acrylic painting, drawing and playing around in photoshop.

How did you become interested in photography? What camera do you use?
Although I’ve always owned a camera and taken zillions of snaps, I sort of fell into photography around three years ago when my partner bought me a Canon 300D for Christmas. I decided within 2 weeks that I would only take photographs using the manual settings, so that I would be challenged to learn quickly.

What’s your favorite subject to photograph?
I actually wanted to photograph landscapes, but as I don’t drive and my physical activity is often limited due to having M.E, I chose to learn macro and close up photography. I already kept frogs and reptiles as pets, plus my partner and I own 2 reptile shops, so I have access to a huge range of wonderfully interesting creatures which I can photograph. The frogs are my favourite subjects, but I do also love to photograph an occasional landscape and models for their portfolios.

You have submitted a lot of excellent shots of Amphibians, what is it that draws you photograph these creatures?
I do keep a few species of frogs at home and never get bored of observing their behavior, I love the funny little noises they make and the ridiculously precarious positions they get themselves into.

Show us your favorite work or one of your favorites (please include a link to the photo) and tell us anything you would like us to know about it. It does not have to be of an Amphibian.
One images I am quite chuffed to capture is this one of a Vine snake striking, its not easy to capture snakes striking ;)

Show us your favorite or one of your favorite works of someone else on RB and tell us what draws you to the work (please include a link to the photo).
My favourite artist on Red Bubble is Mandy Disher
I adore her soft floral work, the beautiful still life images she does and her work with textures in particular.
