About This Group

This is a group about Altered Art – Collage and Assemblage

What is Altered Art?
It’s an art form that involves altering or combining existing works to produce new pieces of artwork. Altered art embraces many art forms, but most closely resembles a combination of mixed media and collage genres.

Collage may sometimes include newspaper clippings, ribbons, bits of colored or handmade papers, portions of other artwork or texts, photographs and other found objects, glued to a piece of paper or canvas.

Assemblage is an artistic process, consisting of making three-dimensional or two-dimensional artistic compositions by putting together found objects.

Photomontage is the process and result of making a composite photograph by cutting and joining a number of other photographs.

This group is NOT about scrapbooking, greeting cards, 3D abstract digital artwork, or fractals.

Any photographic or digital works must give the visual impression of traditional collage (i.e. an obvious composite of several different images).

Please present only your best, tasteful and non-offensive work.
