Honestly, you have to view this large… I love Niagara Falls at dawn. It’s so quiet there! The light is amazing! After the millions of shots I’ve seen of Niagara Falls and the tourist craziness you usually encounter there, I want to share my view of them… Seagulls in the mist of Niagara Falls at sunrise, Canadian side Canon EOS Digital Rebel / 1/500 sec / F 10.0 / ISO 400

A dull rainy day, my dear wife was off to the shops, so I decided on checking out Nelly Ayre Foss. The last time I was here, there was barely any water, this time it was gushing. No chance of getting to my favourite spot, it was under water. It was such a dull day that I decided on hdr from a single raw file to get a bit of light into the shot. / I was stood in that with my wellies on.. I even noticed the water was still rising as it got closer to the top of my wellies. / Nelly Ayre Foss is close to Goathland in th North York Moors National Park. / Taken with a Canon 5D.

November 2007 found the island of Martha’s Vineyard struck by Tropical Storm Noel. 75 MPH winds were recorded at the harbor in Vineyard Haven. I couldn’t resist the opportunity to take some pictures of my own. I had to use the wall of a building as support against the wind and rain to get this shot. By the way, this is really in color, not B&W. Nikon D200 with 18 – 200 VR Lens, handheld, Program Mode. Featured in the “All Water In Motion” Group – 11/20/09.

This is another view of the spill way in black and white to heighten the details. As I stated before, out with my friend and fellow Redbubbler Jason Connolly photographing the Derwent reservoir in the Peak District of Deerbyshire, England, we spent quite a while photographing Derwent dam and the surrounding area. We also spotted this lovely out flow of water into the Derwent reservoir. This water comes from the Ashop river which flows through Snake Valley. A portion of the river was diverted to flow through the mountain to the other side through this water way tunnel and out into the Derwent. There is a dam in the Ashop, but it only stand 10 ft., but is still used to allow water to continue to flow into the reservoir, even though the river is allowed to also run into the Ladybower reservoir as well. The concrete table here creates this beautiful cascade of water. Canon EOS-1Ds Mark ll / 28-300mm IS zoom lens / f/22 / Shutter speed: 5 seconds / ISO 125 Some post processing work done in Photoshop CS. I changed it to B&W and adjusted tone with green and red filters. I also decided to clean around the edges by cropping the image.
