T-Shirt Challenge - World Youth Day (locked)

Earlier today Scott alerted us to the news that the NSW State Government has rushed through laws giving police the power to fine people for “causing annoyance” during July’s World Youth Day in Sydney. The laws “have the potential to make a crime of wearing a T-shirt with a message on it, undertaking a Chaser-style stunt, handing out condoms at protests, riding a skateboard or even playing music”. People who fail to comply could be fined $5500. Thetatecreative has thrown down the gauntlet with this protest t-shirt and has suggested this is a cause worthy of a t-shirt challenge. We at Agent Provocateur agree. We would like to see your best ‘t-shirt with a message’, specifically a t-shirt with a message aimed at the NSW state government, letting them know what we think of the introduction of these laws. We should point out that this challenge isn’t a ‘Catholic bashing’ exercise but the use of religious iconography in your designs is fine as it’s related to the issue. Think of this as an opportunity to show the NSW state government that we think this kind of action is unacceptable and a gross breach of your freedom of speech.

These policies are against human rights. So Govt. is committing crime and not youths. Feelings,emotions and ideas are not some product which can be banned for personal profit. This is where they are making the mistake. Restricting feelings and ideas leads to bleeding heart. Bleeding heart only leads to death of the nation. |

THESE ARE FANTA … oops… astic. Sorry for shouting, my caps lock was on. World Youth Day thingy makes me shudder. For the first challenge ever in the Art for Children’s Group I was looking for a theme a couple of days ago and almost chose World Youth Day! Soooooo glad I didn’t. |
