“Cat love” was featured in Affection (15 November 2009) This photo was taken with the camera of my relatively old mobile phone (no 3 megapixel yet…). Lotje is a very intimate cat – she likes to have her face as close to mine as possible, preferably somewhere between my nose and my mouth… which is sometimes a problem at night, making it hard to breathe. It wasn’t easy to get us both right in the picture, well-focused and still in intimate mood, using my telephone in my right hand… (I am left-handed… but got used to shooting with the right… no, wrong hand – have no choice with regular cameras).

I have been working on a pretty BIG project over the last few months. I wanted to create a calendar which captured everything (almost everything) that is close to my heart: ~ My friends / ~ Photography / ~ Make-up / ~ Portraiture / ~ Celebrating the beauty that is a woman! I present…. F.A.C.E.S. / Females Are a Celebration of Everything Sublime This is more than just a calendar… my goal is to use all profits made from this calendar sold on Redbubble.com for a project which will provide a beauty make-over and photo session for a women’s shelter here in Toronto. There are thousands of homeless, battered and forgotten women in the world who need their spirits lifted…this project wont get to them all, but maybe it will inspire you all to make someone’s day better and to appreciate all the women in your life. I’ll be gathering fellow make-up artists, hair stylists and photographers to help make this happen….your contribution will help purchase a toiletry bag filled with goodies for the women at the shelter. This project will take place next year…and…of course…photos will be posted =) I’ll keep you up-to-speed with any updates….which shelter, who’s involved, dates etc. Thanks for taking the time to read this and a huge word of gratitude for anyone who makes a purchase.
