The lighthouse of Whitefish Point, Lake Superior, Michigan. Trying out a digital cross processing technique.
It’s July. Schools are out for summer. But British summertime means it will most likely rain. I protest against the injustice by wearing my flip-flops anyway. ECU Joondalup Admin building closeup, north of Perth, Western Australia. For some reason this image reminds me of the 20s. I was delighted when reviewing last year’s photos using the telephoto lens to discover this little closeup gem I had inadvertently passed over. I’ll post the full image below so you’ll see it wasn’t all that obvious! Nikon D700, 70-200mm @100mm, ISO400, f/9, 1/500sec / cropped in photoshop – sometimes it’s all about the crop! I love the stripped-down simplicity of this photograph. I often shoot on the Grand Union Canal in North West London near Willesden Junction. On this particular day there was a storm approaching from the north as the afternoon sun shone on the Car Giant Warehouses. It was one of those shoots when no matter how fast you shoot, you still miss pictures – in the space of about three minutes I got about six “keepers”. This group provides a forum for advanced photographers to practice and perfect their craft, challenge themselves and others, learn and teach, promote their work to potential clients, improve business skills, and form a collective, supportive body of skilled artists. This group is for people who plan to pursue photography as a career rather than as a hobby or part-time pasttime, who feel their work is a step above novice,a nd who are willing to not only ask questions to others but also share whatever it is you know or have tried. We encourage an interactive atmosphere where members can not only share information but a piece of themselves. Creative inspirations, intelligent debate, a pedagogical approach and enjoying each other’s company will allow us to, most importantly, have fun along the way.
REQUIREMENTS FOR ART TO BE ACCEPTED INTO THE GROUP GALLERY AND/OR COMPETITIONS…....The only thing we ask from group members is to regularly participate in the group forums. This group will succeed and thrive on regular participation and interaction. Please add your artwork only AFTER you have contributed to our forums.
