RE: MODERATING THIS GROUPS IMAGE UPLOADS
I am open to criticism here but here are my views
Please do not moderate ie accept uploaded images onto the site WILLY NILLY as there is a strategy in place to try to maintain the identity of the 60s GLORY group focus on the HOMEPAGE.And to reward artists who demonstrate an understanding + expression of those values within a wide range of criteria + media.
OTHERWISE
1.We get one artists work x 4-12 images all at once plastered on our profile page sending out any characteristic they may have uploaded as the groups identity which may be way off the mark
2.There is a huge volume of uploads that although very interesting+well executed dont fit our criteria
3.We get regular bad taste images ,other hurtful ,psycho + sexually degrading or racist uploads not acceptable even to hippies
4.The 12 images listed on our profile page as newly added work represent an unofficial mini feature opportunity for the artists demonstrating the groups ideals+focus.
The rest of the accepted work which may be up to 100 images /few days may or may not meet 60sGLORY criteria exactly .Often there are images that are not relevant in themselves but reflect a theme or personality that has been contributing considerable ongoing relevant images as a regular member.And thereby has a leadership social significance role to other members.Or may be poor quality or multiples of a similar theme etc.
5.CARTE BLANCHE ACCEPTANCE come what may has not worked in the past here .Otherwise we end up with a flower show,a gaggle of test patterns,one persons love of their girlfriends face,or themselves, 500 motorcars, crying victim highlights,or just plain old bad rubbish poorly executed +/or/but intensely narcicistic.
6.These 12 FRONT PAGE NEWLY ACCEPTED ITEMS do represent this groups image + as such it would be in the groups best interest to atleast attempt to design their collective placement on the page with some design sense/feel/logic/eloquence/or skilled delivery as an editor would a magazine or such like.
I’m sure I’m guilty of all of the above but we are trying to hold the compass bearing around 1 or 2 degrees tolerance either way + represent the image of 60s Glory in a 2 Dimensional medium as ART to inspire each other with the Aura of those dark halcyon days of ideals + the promise of a more enlightened utopian society.
