Perfect Pickup by Adam Gormley
One of my favorite animals on this beautiful earth, the White-Bellied Sea Eagle. This one shot on the North Shore beach, about 10 kilometres north of Noosa Heads. Heaps of light on a cloudless day, made for great light for this kind of photography. the shutter speed was 1/2000th sec, so it froze the action nicely :) Canon 5D Mk II, 400mm. Bright Eyes by Adam Gormley
A portrait of the Green Long Legged Fly, or Dolichopodid Fly. If you have these flies in your rose garden, it’s a good thing, they love the taste of Aphids. I waited and hung around these guys for a long while, and didn’t unfortunately catch one eating. Not sure how often they do eat. Captured in the Northern Suburbs of brisbane, sitting on a common garden shrub leaf. They grow to about 6mm in length, and usually bright coloured green in colour. Some varieties have black patches on their wings. Canon 5D Mk II, 65mm, 4x. Available very large, and best appreciated large!

The Coach House by Bob Wickham
The Coach House at Woolmers Estate, near Longford, Tasmania. / The building dates from the 1840’s, the cars are a 1913 Wolseley and an old Dodge, still with its leaping ram ornament. Four shots from +4 to -2 were taken with a Canon 5D Mark 2 and combined in Photomatix Pro 3.2. / Then opened in Photoshop CS4. Several adjustment layers including curves and B&W with lots of masking. / The highlights and shadows were enhanced by painting in either white or black on a grey layer set to Vivid Light blending mode. For Canon afficionados, the new 5D MkII has been anticipated for some time. Now that it has been released, will it live up to expectations? This Group seeks to find out and act as a user support group as we come to grips with its many new and exciting features or, heaven forbid, start to encounter glitches.
