Put your thinking caps on …. what have I shot here? It might look like the world’s biggest bar code, but it ain’t! Let’s have some theories from all you sleuths out there …. I do not crop, enhance or post-edit my images in any way. Shot with a Pentax K100D, using a Sigma 18-125mm lens. F11, 1/500 sec, ISO 200, focal length 125mm.
I’ve seen some pretty amazing stained-glass windows around the world, but this is the first time I’ve seen a roof that comprises stained-glass. This was shot at a church in Pymble, Sydney, on Easter Sunday 2007. I just sat there during the service with a crick in my neck, because I was looking up at the ceiling all the time. I had never been to this church before (we live in Melbourne) so immediately after Mass had ended, I asked the priest if I could come back with my camera and take some shots – and he readily gave me permission. I shot about a dozen frames, but this angle, the best of the lot, could only be achieved by kneeling in front of the altar. Which I guess is very appropriate. If you look carefully at the image, you’ll see the reflection of the glass on the two wooden beams on the left. I do not crop, enhance or post-edit my images in any way. Shot with a Pentax K100D, using a Sigma 18-125mm lens. F9.5, 1/250 sec, ISO 200, focal length 34mm. Featured in the ART OF GLASS group, June 2009. 50 tHiNgS and we are trying to rectify this. It’s unfortunate that many Members are using the Group simply for added exposure, so we’re hoping they will begin to think of 50 tHiNgS first, and submit appropriate entries. The time will come when the Group returns to its original purpose but meanwhile please try to enjoy what we have.
