Pencil drawing of Michele Mercier as Angelique on pulpboard paper
This is from a series of shots I did of the Australian band Thirsty Merc – when they were just starting out. I like their sound and stage presence. They played at a Frankston festival.

This was a comic cover years ago and is a combination of a loaned photo of Alan (he didn’t have many), some altered photos of microphones, and some drawings of my oldest daughter, Riley, who was something like 4 at the time.

Something very similar was on the cover of IFX September issue. I got hold of it a couple of weeks back and was just staring at it for a couple of minutes. Inside was a Bente Schlick’s article on creating fairy paintings. I went straight to work with it and 2 weeks and 2 weekends later, I had this. I recokon its my best work yet and loved doing it! Working on a large canvas with 30 layers stacked up made by weak ass laptop cough n stutter with major lag on my Intuos4. After a lot of merging n reworking (& swearing) later I ended up with this. The subject was refrenced from a pic of an Indian model Katrina Kaif.
soft pastels. Rendition of a slight look of Marilyn Monroe. I have found that doing portraits with pastels are very rewarding an forgiving. The picture was taken 1962
James Douglas “Jim” Morrison (December 8, 1943 – July 3, 1971) was an American singer, songwriter, poet, writer and filmmaker. He was best known as the lead singer and lyricist of The Doors and is widely considered to be one of the most charismatic front men in rock music history. He was also the author of several books of poetry and the director of a documentary and short film. Although Morrison was known for his baritone vocals, many fans, scholars, and journalists have discussed his theatrical stage persona, his self-destructiveness, and his work as a poet. He was ranked number 47 on Rolling Stone’s “100 Greatest Singers of All Time”.
