My design is based on a short but pithy story by Rex Inkpen called ‘define weird’...... as soon as I read the first line of this wonderful tight little vingette I had the idea for the tee shirt…. hope it makes sense to you guys…. enjoy ….. oh and really… take it up to large view to really see the story…... it’s worth the effort….promise….:)
A day or so ago I made a tee shirt based on a short story for a challenge in the flash fiction group and it is called define weird well this attempt at illustrating a bit of writing has inspired another writer to ask me to do one for them…. and here it is….....batter for the soul is the name of the very very short story by PJ Ryan that this tee shirt illustrates. a short and yummy meditation on the lure of cake. mmmmm yummy cake.

Although I’ve been hanging out at RB I haven’t done much (alright, any) participating. I’ve had a bit of a difficult time with my particular set of health issues and have not had many creative thoughts or actions. Since good health is beginning to show itself again, I am hoping that I can round up some of the creativity that has eluded me for so long. Writing the flash fiction story Too Much Fabric Softener was an exciting step forward. I had all but forgotten the thrill of stringing together just the right words and making them all work toward a successful outcome. Yes, I have missed much over these last few months. (OMGoodness, has it really been months??! Yikes!) To my best recollection the last thing I wrote was Jay Walking in December. That’s a half a year. Sad. Painting has had a little more success at showing up in my life the last few months, but not much. I did Rufous Motmot as a special request for my father and presented it to him for Father’s Day. (He’d forgotten he requested it so it made a lovely surprise.) I also did Mal Ojo . Perhaps indicative of my health issues at the time? I’ve worked sporadically on another piece and hope to not only finish it but get permission to show and post it. I am hoping to get the hang of dealing with my peculiar set of ups and downs without the drastic affect they have made on my life thus far. Thoughts and prayers in that regard are always appreciated. Thank you. If you have read this far, I appreciate your perseverance! My active participation will more than likely be slow. But, my intention is to press on and get back into the swing of things. Many thanks.
This is for Flash Fictions Frog Tattoo challenge, but I am a day late and a dollar short!!!
Okay, the fan in my heater is officially dead and I need to find a way to either fix it or replace it. Being that its mid winter here and the nights are downright freezing, I can’t contemplate getting through the next couple of months without a heater. But I’ve seen a few bubblers from time to time start their own personal ‘fund’ to help them get over a hump or two and here is what I propose to do. I am offering my services as a writer with a bent for fractured verse and the occasional Flash Fiction to craft personalised verse in your choice of style, be it limerick, rhyming or open poetry, or a Flash Fiction, your choice of subject and any personal details you want included. I will then put that creation (once approved by you) on a poster, card or as a Poetee (tshirt) with some design elements, and upload here to my folio for you to purchase in the format of your choosing. No obligation to buy, but it will be there with the standard 20% mark up. This is going to be an open invitation and ongoing until I get the heat back on even if it doesn’t make it in time for the current winter! I guess I’m a fairly proud person and not asking for charity here. I sincerely wish to provide people with something that they will find personally a delight, so if you’re interested, send me a bubblemail with what you would like written and consider it done. And as I said above … there is no obligation. It can be as little as a card or anything for that matter! (Or perhaps you could even buy my book in the bubbleshop … I’m told it’s a good read). Fingers crossed. And thanking you in advance ;o) Oh and here are a couple of examples I prepared earlier … /
