  • Storm Coming by oneillstudios

Ships, 3d models rendered in Carrara. HDR image lighting. Each ship was given a target to point at, thus creating illusion of similar trajectory. Planet-stock image of a hurricane-satellite view. An abstract of my own overlaid and screened. Planet in distance, rendered by Lunar Cell, Photoshop plug-in. Screened on top of planet. Engine flares-particule effects from Particle illusion, Lens flares (Genarts), Muzzle flash (Tinerbox); upper atmosphere haze on ships-Shine plug in. Composited initially in after effects; then into Photoshop for finishing.

  • Forest Ferns by reflector

A digital photo manipulated in Photoshop. I duplicated the base layer and changed its layer mode to expose the layer below it. I applied a filter to add definition to the edges of everything in the scene. Added two tinting layers to influence the colours expressed once a filter was applied on the layer below, or above it. Finally I adjusted the layer modes for all layers to achieve the best visual results.

  • Reeds In A Pond by reflector

Original photograph taken at the Kooragang Wetland Centre. I duplicated the base layer, applied a couple of filters to those copies, added a few tinting layers, and adjusted the layer modes to change look of the piece.

  • safe filter is on
  • Retro by oneillstudios

A Retro Robot visits Earth to determine the extent of the organic menace. Robot and machine rendered in Carrara 5, using HDR lighting. The HDR image and *.rpf render composited in photshop. Thus the reflections on the Retro Robot match the background exactly. A slight shadow added under the machine. Mixed down to 8-bit and levels.

  • The Watcher by lightsmith

It sits as guardian, watching all who would pass, / Silicon life on some distant globe, / The Watcher sits as still as rock, / But do not be deceived. an Infrared Image with some strategic fiddling to produce this strange coloured glimpse into another world which is, in fact, ours. I first did a colour swap of red and blue. Then I increased colour saturation. Then I used PaintShop Pro’s brilliant (and fun) colour replacement technology to apply a further change to the colour. This was the result.

  • Patchwork Sky by reflector

A digital montage made in Photoshop using two different photographs – the clouds are one photograph, and the buildings are the other photo. I used the layer modes to change the colours of the clouds, and I extracted the sky from the street scene photo so that I could apply Filters to only the street, not the sky that was once there.

  • Wing Abstract 2 by Harlan Mayor

A photograph of trees, manipulated with Microsoft Digital Image, processed by adding brush strokes, painting, adding distortion, and multiplying images.

  • Alien X2 by Harlan Mayor

Foil and food coloring Abstract Photo manipulated with Microsoft Digital Image Software by painting, chaging the lighting, reversing and doubling image.

  • Modron the Mother Goddess by WanderingSoulArt

Mordron Is the Welsh Mother Goddess. / Our earth, we need to came to fundamentals. / We must remember where we come from. I used many fractals here. I wanted to depict the “unreal” part of this world representated by Her Mother. / Tool of the trade is Paint Shop Pro. / One photo of the model, then about 40 layers of fractals. arf arf… i cut and pasted a lot, above all to make the details of the dress. If you look closely you’ll also find a dandelion over the dress ;) I usually embedded the layers using various blend mode, my faves are soft light, hard light & overlay! / The bg is also made using various fractals, merged together thanx to blending ;) NEW – 2008 Calendar is available HERE —-—-—-—-—-— My gallery is Copyright © Wandering Soul. • I am not sure if someone else has already posted a tutorial on this, so I thought I would have a go at it. I read this very insightful tutorial by admin Xavier Shay about posting a Portfolio into an email signature. I was toying around with the code, and discovered how to place the code on your Red Bubble profile page. I have noticed that some people have already figured out how to do this, so there are some who probably already know about this. I, however, did not know this until I toyed around with it and, so, I am sure that there others out there who might find this of value. I would first recommend that you read Xavier’s post and the comments that follow, as they were a very big help in learning how to do this. (1) The first step is to use the image location link that was provided in the forum tutorial: http://redbubble.com/people/username/recipe:banner;back_color:ffffff;orientation:horizontal;limit:4/username_banner.jpg (2) Next, paste this image location link somewhere in your “About Me” section between exclamation points, like this: !place the image location link here! (3) Now, notice the bold areas of the above link. You must insert your Red Bubble username (not your real name) where it says username (there are two spots in the link where you have to do this). So, my link would like like this: http://redbubble.com/people/bchrisdesigns/recipe:banner;back_color:ffffff;limit:4_;orientation:_horizontal;/bchrsidesigns_banner.jpg Can you tell where I have replaced “username” with “bchrisdesigns”? (4) Finally, if you take note of the italicized text in the image location link directly above, you will notice that the values of “back_color”, “orientation”, and “limit” are all italicized. These values are yours to control and manipulate to get the proper look and feel that you would like on your page. back_color: is the image’s background color, which you can change to any color using the standard HTML Color Code. Note, that you do not need to use the # (pound sign) that normally precedes HTML Color Code (i.e. ”#ffffff”) – you just need the code (i.e. “fffffff”). #ffffff is the color code for “white”. limit: is the number of thumbnails that will be seen in your banner. I have experimented with this in my blog and have discovered that the most you can set it to is “6”. On your Red Bubble profile page, the most you can really set it to is “4” for horizontal images and “6” for vertical images orientation: is the way your portfolio will be seen. This can be changed to either “horizontal” (from side-to-side) or “vertical” (up and down). And, that is it. Once you have decided how you want your image to look, just save your profile and presto! You’ve got a nifty banner on your page. BUT… If you would like your banner to be click-able, you need to add a link code to it, such as: ”! image location here ! ( link description here )” : hyperlink here You can copy and paste this example into your “About Me” section and then fill in the blanks with your information (make sure you delete any and all spaces). In the above example, replace the underlined text as follows: image location here: replace this text with the finalized image location link that we worked on in steps 1-4 above. link description here: replace this text with a description of what you would like people to see when they hover over your banner. (Mine says “View My Red Bubble Gallery”.) hyperlink here: replace this text with the actual hyperlink that you would like your image to link to (i.e. a specific Red Bubble section or your profile page; you can also link to your blog/website/etc.). Once you replace the text as indicated, simply save your edited profile and check out your radical awesomeness! Here is an example of mine (with hyperlink): I hope this helps everyone! Cheers! P.S. I am adding this to all of my groups in the hopes that everyone can use this tool to display their beautiful works of art (from Atmospheric Optics to Zoophoria). Much love!

  • Pisces by David Allen

Pisces was created using Photoshop. It combines five of my own photos, two photos that I have permission to use and two drawings. The central figure is made-up of two photos (© Sandra Torregrosa-Allen) of the same person, blended together. The fisheye and mouth are from one photo, cropped. The background texture is made of 4 different layered and manipulated photos (close up images of natural textures). The star pattern was layered onto the image and then several lens flares applied to each star position. © 2008 Limited edition (5) archival prints are available from my web site: DAViD M. ALLeN
