A lovely mountain gorilla in Rwanda, it was such a wonderful experience to meet him. He is one of 380 left in Rwanda and his name is Ntakibazo. He is part of the Umubano Group, meaning “neighborliness”. Umubano has 9 individuals: 1 Silverback; 1 Sub adult male; 3 Adult females and 4 Babies. Led by Charles, the dominant silverback, Umubano was formerly a part of the Amahoro group. As Charles matured into a silverback of the same rank as Ubumwe, he could not stand being given orders and decided to stage a fight and challenge Ubumwe. The fight went on for weeks and then months. Finally, Charles managed to snatch from Ubumwe a few females and formed his own group. Since then, he has commanded respect and recognition from Ubumwe. Taken with Nikon D50.

Sassy as a baby. I took Sassy in after I noticed she couldn’t find her mother to nurse. She had trouble focusing her eyes and still does. Her mother was a ferrel cat that had adopted my front porch and she is a great addition to my family of cats. She purrs with a little “squeek”, the one that means I am so very content! LOL When she does that it makes my heart smile. my husband found these guys yesterday while i was at work, and couldnt wait to show me when i got home, so i could take some photos…...ill have to try to get some better ones….here is the best of yesterday….it had been rainning and was getting late…..ill try again today…...but for now…..looooooooooook, at the babes…they are mocking bird babies…..when i looked up to the top of the blueberry tree there they were and if you hit the limb lightly they all come up like a singing choir.,..lol, so funny to hit the bush and up they come , like the song kuckaberry tree, remember it…..kuckaberry sits in the old gum tree, merry merry king of the bush is he( i think) its a funny song i use to sing as a child, i sing it to my baby goats now..each morning ..as i call them by name…and feed them their bottles…lol IN-Joy this one.
