A lovely mountain gorilla in Rwanda, it was such a wonderful experience to meet him. He is one of 380 left in Rwanda and his name is Ntakibazo. He is part of the Umubano Group, meaning “neighborliness”. Umubano has 9 individuals: 1 Silverback; 1 Sub adult male; 3 Adult females and 4 Babies. Led by Charles, the dominant silverback, Umubano was formerly a part of the Amahoro group. As Charles matured into a silverback of the same rank as Ubumwe, he could not stand being given orders and decided to stage a fight and challenge Ubumwe. The fight went on for weeks and then months. Finally, Charles managed to snatch from Ubumwe a few females and formed his own group. Since then, he has commanded respect and recognition from Ubumwe. Taken with Nikon D50.

782 Views ~ Wow!!! Sassy as a baby, she is now 1-1/2 years old. I took Sassy in after I noticed she couldn’t find her mother to nurse. She had trouble focusing her eyes and still does. Her mother was a ferrel cat that had adopted my front porch and she is a great addition to my family of cats. She purrs with a little “squeek”, the one that means I am so very content! LOL When she does that it makes my heart smile. When you lose someone close you realise then that time is precious, time can’t be paused, rewound when we feel like it, it is now, right this moment, time waits for no one. Having lost both parents within 2 years of each other I often regret time, not the fact I had it, but the fact it was wasted. Regardless of how a person is or who that person is, time is here momentarily, do you know what time it is for you and your loved ones?
