A lovely mountain gorilla in Rwanda, it was such a wonderful experience to meet him. He is one of 380 left in Rwanda and his name is Ntakibazo. He is part of the Umubano Group, meaning “neighborliness”. Umubano has 9 individuals: 1 Silverback; 1 Sub adult male; 3 Adult females and 4 Babies. Led by Charles, the dominant silverback, Umubano was formerly a part of the Amahoro group. As Charles matured into a silverback of the same rank as Ubumwe, he could not stand being given orders and decided to stage a fight and challenge Ubumwe. The fight went on for weeks and then months. Finally, Charles managed to snatch from Ubumwe a few females and formed his own group. Since then, he has commanded respect and recognition from Ubumwe. Taken with Nikon D50.

3,497 Views ~ Wow!!! Thank you so much for loving my little Sassy. Sassy as a baby, she is now 1-1/2 years old. I took Sassy in after I noticed she couldn’t find her mother to nurse. She had trouble focusing her eyes and still does. Her mother was a ferrel cat that had adopted my front porch and she is a great addition to my family of cats. She purrs with a little “squeek”, the one that means I am so very content! LOL When she does that it makes my heart smile. I had to pick the stubborn little thing up, which only fueled her fire. She’s very aware of her superior position in the house, and she owns Daddy. Sometimes life doesn’t go the way you want it to, even if you’re a spoiled-rotten cat! The Rolling Stones put out the song YOU CAN’T ALWAYS GET WHAT YOU WANT. . . STONES Rescued: Molly went from being a starving little mother.to.be on the street to having her own house, bed, and daddy. While she likes me somewhat too, she’s daddy’s girl. / She didn’t want to move off Daddy’s feet, so I had to help. I might add, but it’s obvious, that she’s gotten a bit plump since she moved in here. Any Tabby with brown hair behind its ears is a brown tabby. On this bedspread, the brown in her coat really stands out! Normally she looks kind of raccoony grey.
