No More Group Mail

H M Bascom H M Bascom 1972 posts

I will not be communicating with the group via group bubble mail for a while. It seems that there are some members who are bothered to open the rare communication from their hosts.

Unbeknown to me, RedBubble has instituted an automatic suspension mechanism by which a few group members can cause the immediate suspension of a host by reporting a group bubble mail as inappropriate.

As a result of this policy, and my recent automatic suspension for communicating an important issue to the group, I will only communicate through the forums and my personal journal. A second suspension may threaten my position as host of Current Issues.

Folks you will just have to keep you eye on the forums and look for journals from me to keep up to date about what’s going on in Current Issues.

Hi Helen

The automatic suspension function only applies to bubblemail. I’m aware you sent out group bubblemail recently and it only takes a few people to disagree with it for the suspension to apply. Anyhoo, I think your account has been reinstated now.

cheers

I do so enjoy the vocal minority getting to do things to suppress the rights of others.

Oh well bubble mail has it purposes but RB should be a bit more aware that in a group, such as current issues, will have dissent on many levels and from various viewpoints. If a group like this did not have widely held opinions we would be the most boring of groups. Current Issues should get the juices flowing and cause a reaction both positive and negative.

What some feel is bad (read that inappropriate) for their mail box may not under the letter of RB be inappropriate. This auto silencer though a good idea in theory has been shown in this case to have thrown not only the baby out with the bath water but the entire bathroom.
