Self-portrait ~ Once again, i must insist you all listen to (and maybe watch) this – Amelia – I Am Waiting For My Man, as the next 7 pieces were done while this was playing incessantly. The music is amazing, and the dance piece is the from the most beautiful Modern Ballet movie i’ve ever seen. So inspiring. / Perhaps if you listen you’ll recognize the lyrics… This is a series of photos i’m doing to prepare myself for my first Modern Ballet class in…well, since my accident. / Something about this music/dance piece just does something to me…
Self-portrait I’m going to be choreographing a Modern dance-piece to / The Pusher, by The Hathaways – along with a dance-themed photo series once i have the idea more formed, movement-wise… “You can’t stop the pain / too many years have gone / i don’t know my name / i don’t know where to go / i been here before / guess it goes to show / nothing you do to me / gives me anything / i would want to see and i can’t stop the pain / when it keeps coming / i don’t know why you run / every time you say / stay right here with me / stay right here with me I’m pushing my words away / when they always hurt you / it doesn’t makes sense to me / i’m pushing these words away / they’re not real to you / they feel real to me…” * Stock: / Hair-brushes by PrettyBrush @Deviantart

I feel so out of place all the time, well almost all the time, depends who you’re with. I feel like I should have been this age i am now but either in the year 3000 or higher, or some time in the mid 60’s, then die around a decade later. I’m just trapped in this strangers body, in this strangers world, in this strangers time… Ever feel nostalgic about the past before the past has even past? . . The shot is a little busy, but i like it, an array of the history that shapes this world, some of my favourite records/bands/artists (well of the few that i own) are the ones with the vinyls showing, and the #1 favourtie being played. / (oh, and the spiked up Mohawk was just for fun) / . . Self / Nikon D90 18-200mm lens / Shot some time after 9pm, edited 1am Featured in / C.O.R.E. / young Enthusiasts

Best Viewed Large “Will you walk into my parlour?” said the Spider to the Fly, / ‘Tis the prettiest little parlour that ever you did spy; / The way into my parlour is up a winding stair, / And I’ve a many curious things to show when you are there.” / Oh no, no,” said the little Fly, “to ask me is in vain, / For who goes up your winding stair can ne’er come down again.” “I’m sure you must be weary, dear, with soaring up so high; / Will you rest upon my little bed?” said the Spider to the Fly. / “There are pretty curtains drawn around; the sheets are fine and thin, / And if you like to rest awhile, I’ll snugly tuck you in!” / Oh no, no,” said the little Fly, “for I’ve often heard it said, / They never, never wake again, who sleep upon your bed!” Said the cunning Spider to the Fly, ” Dear friend what can I do, / To prove the warm affection I ‘ve always felt for you? / I have within my pantry, good store of all that’s nice; / I’m sure you’re very welcome—will you please to take a slice?” / “Oh no, no,” said the little Fly, “kind Sir, that cannot be, / I’ve heard what’s in your pantry, and I do not wish to see!” “Sweet creature!” said the Spider, “you’re witty and you’re wise, / How handsome are your gauzy wings, how brilliant are your eyes! / I’ve a little looking-glass upon my parlour shelf, / If you’ll step in one moment, dear, you shall behold yourself.” / “I thank you, gentle sir,” she said, “for what you ‘re pleased to say, / And bidding you good morning now, I’ll call another day.” The Spider turned him round about, and went into his den, / For well he knew the silly Fly would soon come back again: / So he wove a subtle web, in a little corner sly, / And set his table ready, to dine upon the Fly. / Then he came out to his door again, and merrily did sing, / “Come hither, hither, pretty Fly, with the pearl and silver wing; / Your robes are green and purple—there’s a crest upon your head; / Your eyes are like the diamond bright, but mine are dull as lead!” Alas, alas! how very soon this silly little Fly, / Hearing his wily, flattering words, came slowly flitting by; / With buzzing wings she hung aloft, then near and nearer drew, / Thinking only of her brilliant eyes, and green and purple hue - / Thinking only of her crested head - poor foolish thing! At last, / Up jumped the cunning Spider, and fiercely held her fast. / He dragged her up his winding stair, into his dismal den, / Within his little parlour—but she ne’er came out again! And now dear little children, who may this story read, / To idle, silly flattering words, I pray you ne’er give heed: / Unto an evil counselor, close heart and ear and eye, / And take a lesson from this tale, of the Spider and the Fly.” The Spider and the Fly / by Mary Howitt Part of “To Dance Between Shadow and Light” series. THEATRICAL AND STAGED PHOTOGRAPHY
Setting up a scene to illustrate an idea using theatrical techniques such as costumes, make-up, models, location, lighting etc… then taking a photo of it…
An arranged photo shoot…
The concept must be evident in the ‘planning’ and during the ‘execution’ processes from an artistic and deliberate perspective… it is mainly going to exhibit persons or people in the images (poses etc.) however if the scene is made of a number of objects that tell a story it will be considered, this however will be rare and often by pre-arrangement.
