A new shot of my very successful RIPPLES-series. The ocean was not totally flat this time and I had a different boat as well resulting in a different ripples effect. Also tried a different lens here and a more shallow depth of field. / Location: Exmouth Gulf, Western Australia Equipment: CANON 5D, CANON 70-200 f2.8L IS Image was featured in Colors of Water View more shots here: / © aabz-imaging / ALL RIGHTS RESERVED

Golden ocean – Playa del Carmen, Mexico – 2009.
Reflections of light in the stream below Hooker Falls in DuPont Forest – Hendersonville, NC – May 22, 2009.
Yes, it looks like reflective aluminium foil, but it’s water. Doesn’t it remind you of the golden foil-like metal on the side of the lunar module that took Neil Armstrong and Edwin Aldrin to the moon? I’ve shot dawn and dusk across the Yarra River several times, but on this morning, just before Easter 2007, the breeze had turned the surface of the river into a symphony of tightly-knit ripples. Standing on Princes Bridge, I was actually shooting the sun as it slowly edged above the horizon when I noticed this majestic avenue of reflected light across the water. I was about to shoot an image with the golden sheen right in the middle of the frame, when I noticed a four-man rowing crew approaching. I deliberately shot this as an asymmetrical composition, so that the eye would be drawn first to the sheen on the left and then to the rowers in the top right-hand corner. I do not crop, enhance or post-edit my images in any way. Shot with a Pentax K100D, using a Sigma 18-125mm lens. F13, 1/750 sec, ISO 200, focal length 108mm. 22-7965
Taken with a Canon 50D, Sigma 17-70 lens at 53mm, F11, shutter speed 1/6 second, ISO100, processed in Photoshop A couple of weekends ago we took a trip out to the Ribble Valley in Lancashire. I knew about this amazing waterfall which is located at Holden near Clitheroe but did not know exactly where it was. I eventually found it but getting down to this point involved scrambling down a shear 20 foot drop using tree roots!!! Please view large!

On our first trip to Hawaii, we were lucky to have a commanding view of Waikiki and Diamond Head from our hotel room. This capture was taken when the sun was at the most favorable point in the sky to illuminate the water and of course, the volcano. I was happy to have the blue and white sailboat in the shot..have several with it at various stages of travel but liked this one a lot. And the palm trees below add a little foreground interest. I had to crop out the unsightly roof of the Royal Hawaiian Hotel (a famous, pink landmark on Waikiki) and was afraid I would not have the palm trees too. I have other shots where I zoomed in and could actually see the people at the top of the viewing platforms on Diamond Head..but not as beautiful as the whole scene. I must return! Nikon D60
The last of my Adirondack national park series I really hoped you enjoyed them as much as I did taking them I would love some critiques of the series as a whole too if anyone has time and I have a few more that just missed the cut and may fill times that are not as busy :) Here is a look at Lake Brent enjoy :) Taken with the Nikon d-90 and the 18-105mm lens on safari with Lina and Big D A note about changing lenses remember to put them back in your bag before you call it a night and drive home it can be a long ride back to go hunting for them with your flashlight :) nudge nudge Miss Kremsdorf :) .... hehe JK
