Sot at the Hutt River near Trentham park, a small side stream running very slow, cold as Ice, I’d not planned to get wet this morning but in the end I thought that I’d risk ankle deep, the sky lacked interest so I had to focus on foreground water, the light streaming through the mist in the distance was so subtle that i have combined three frames to get everything to show up. This is about 50m down from Peach Frost The sky behind me was vivid pink as shown in this image / / Ice Cold Pink Shot on a Nikon D700 with 17-35mm Nikkor lens, cokin ND8 grad.

From below the earth’s surface, water churn deeply as storms push the liquids of the mountains down all hills and inclines. While the sky turned black and rains poured from the heavens, the earth churned deeply below, expelling excess waters. / Photograph taken in Ulster Heights, New York, USA / Canon Powershot Sx 10 IS, 12mm, 1/5 sec, ISO 80, F/8 /

A beautiful pool with autumns last leaves. Wayne D. King’s images are a celebration of life, blending the real and the surreal to achieve a sense of place or time that reaches beyond the moment into a dreamlike quintessentialism designed to spark an emotional response. Using digital enhancement, handcrafting, painting, and sometimes even straight photography, King seeks to take the viewer to a place that is beyond simple truth to where truth meets passion, hope and dreams. Wayne King blogs about various aspects of his work, his ideas and his images at UnifiedVisions.Blogspot.com; OpportunityAfrica.Blogspot.com and AfricanPhotoJourney.Blogspot.com. this is the view you see of the old train tressel on the barrier island of Gasparilla off to the distance. In 1905 officials from a mining Company, landed on Gasparilla Island and surveying and construction of the railroad began. . The railroad terminus with its 1,000-foot long pier would be built nearby. The Charlotte Harbor and Northern Railroad was completed in 1907. For the next 50 years phosphate would be shipped out of the state-of-the-art port virtually without disruption. Phosphate laden trains were off loaded directly onto ocean going freighters, and the ships took the valuable commodity to ports all over the world. In 1969 Port Boca Grande ranked as the fourth busiest port in Florida. Now the birds gather on this old tressel. / canon 5D markll / canon 20mm / f/18 C.P. filter /

Alau Island viewed from Koki Beach / Hana Maui Hawai’i Copyright © Sharon Mau 2009 / All Rights Reserved I completely forgot that my creative camera settings were on “Tungsten Light” when I took these coastal shots of Alau from Koki Beach yesterday. It is unfortunate as I have about 2 Gigs of landscape and Koki Beach shots that appear super saturated and are virtually useless. The ones I took gazing away from the sun over the ocean toward the Big Island however are amazing. The result is an incredibly deep rich cobalt blue I find completely fascinating. This image is true colour and unedited, straight from the camera except for an ever so light level adjustment on the horizon.
