Ah, they’re here! The Ditzy Dinos! These are specially made for and by my son, Metatron (confusing, I know, but read below and it’ll make sense) This is Ditzy Rexy, a Tyrannosaurus Rex!! He (or she) is the rascal of the group! Watch out for those teeth…yah, ok, so ONE tooth…but still. It took Metatron a while to settle on this final design. He wanted teeth but just couldn’t make it (or himself) happy with it. Finally I suggested to just put one tooth and that was it :)
Ah, they’re here! The Ditzy Dinos! These are specially made for and by my son, Metatron (confusing, I know, but read below and it’ll make sense) This is Ditzy Proty, a cute and adorable Protoceratops. He (or She) is fun and affectionate and has no horns that can poke you. Metatron did this one form templates used for the other designs. A little bit of tweeking with the eyes and frill and beak, plus colouring him in.

Featured in A View somewhere….. November 2009 / This was shot by my talented young son James who is 12 years old, Our 2009 family holiday was spent in the county of Cornwall, England and we had a fantastic week of weather in August which was pretty poor on the whole, anyway while we were down the we met up with famous redbubbler Rob parsons and his lovely lady jean who showed us the local beauty spots, we were shown the village of Boscastle and then headed up to the headland for the sunset, which you can see was fantastic, we were all shooting away, I had my D300 and James was keen to get in on the act, (I think he’s got a future with this photography game) he adopted my Nikon D70s, this was probably the longest period of time he has had my camera, for a couple of hours maybe, shooting this and that, watching what I did, then showing me how it should be done LOL, anyway, this was a shot of Rob fooling around by the cliffs edge so James could do a shot of him… / Shot with a Nikon D70s and 18-55mm vr lens.
My 2 1/2 year old son painted this. / As a stay-at-home-Mommy I am forever looking for fun and educational activities that LittleMan and I can do together. On this day we went outside and found as many leaves as we could and counted them as we put them in our bucket. When we had collected enough leaves we came inside and dumped our bucket on the table and examined our treasures, we looked at the different colors and textures and sizes. I then let LittleMan pick the colors he wanted to paint with and we spread paint all over a pallet and smooshed(very technical term) each leaf around in the paint and then LittleMan placed each leaf where he wanted it on a piece of black construction paper. He chose the colors, he was in charge of the design I was there only to help when needed, mop up the mess and of course keep him from tasting the paint to see what red tastes like…. All in all it was a very fun exercise. © AmandaGWright 2009. acrylic on black construction paper
Little Man made a painting today! I had planned to use finger paints but as soon as he touched the stuff he got really mad, not liking dirty hands. So, I thought I would try him with a brush and you should see him go! He holds out the brush to dip it into the pot of paint I am holding and then paints away! He was sooooooooo cute, standing there with brush in hand loaded with paint studying the paper as if trying to decide where his next mark should go! He is so precious!
Little Man has been painting with me since he was inside my belly, growing strong. I used to rub my tummy while I was painting and talk to him about the image I was working on. When he was a baby I would hold him while I painted and he would watch and coo…He is VERY interested in any new paintings I am working on, he likes to see the changes. Every morning we look through the images I worked on the day before and he gives his “critique”. Now he has begun to work on his own series of images. He does not like to finger-paint like his Mommy does, he does not like sticky, painted fingers…instead he uses a brush and it really is something to see (granted there is usually more paint on the table, floor and walls than on the canvas but then who am I to interrupt or complain about his creative process) he is sooooo serious and he studies the canvas for a VERY long time before making his marks. I am of course, very very proud of his work…especially considering he is only 2! Stay tuned for the next images in his series. / Little Man’s Masterpiece I / Little man’s Masterpiece II /
