The transitory colours of Autumn. Even in Brisbane the changing of the seasons are amazing. Again 50 paces from my front door in Carbrook. There is always something ….

2288 views as of 9/11/09. This old heritage listed building is part of the hospital complex at Herston in Brisbane. Featured in “Beautiful” September 2009.
114 views as of the 16 Nov 2009. The Story Bridge in Brisbane, Australia. The Story Bridge links Kangaroo Point and Fortitude Valley. The Story Bridge is 1 of 3 bridges in the world that tourists are able to do a “Bridge Climb” and walk along the very top part on a guided tour. The other 2 bridges that have a “Bridge Climb” are the Sydney Harbour Bridge and the Auckland Bridge in New Zealand. As is, from the camera. The reason the river has a bluish colour is because the photo was taken about 10 minutes after sunrise and that’s how things appear at that time of the morning.
Taken from the Shorncliffe Jetty, Brisbane. Featured in “Going Coastal” November 2009. This was my 100th photo to be featured in RB.
A storm that passed over The Gold Cost on New Years Night 2009 / Canon 400D 18/55 mm Canon lens /
This is the beautiful but tiny Eastern Sedgefrog. This little beauty would be no longer than 30mm (3cm) and if you look carefully, has caught her lunch – a damselfly. If you look closely at the frogs mouth, you can see the sticky goo that frogs use with their prey. And talk about smart – notice that it’s made the wings sticky – at this stage, the body is been left alone. This is a very friendly visitor to our gardens here in Brisbane so if on a balmy night you’re outside and you hear a sharp high pitched creeek or criiik – ik followed by one or more staccato pips, you’ve most probably got an Eastern Sedgefrog visiting you. This was taken with a Canon 5DMKII and Canon 100mm f/2.8 USM macro lens with the MT-24ex flash which did fire but on 1/32 strength.
Taken From Kirra Beach looking back towards Coolangatta on Queenland’s Gold Coast /

First things first – is it Brisbane or is it ‘Brissie’? Is it ‘Brissie’ or is it Brisbane?
About the only place you’ll see it called Brisbane is on a map. Just about everyone else from the Prime Minister to TV reporters to cab drivers call it Brissie. The locals call it Brissie and not long after arriving, visitors call it Brissie too. It’s that sort of place!
You’ll be amazed at our magnificent flowering trees and plants and colourful birds. You’ll marvel at our bay and our riverside walks. You’ll love our sunrises and sunsets. You’ll be in awe of our rainforests and beaches that are all just a short drive away and you’ll be charmed by our nearby country towns and neighbouring cities.
We welcome visitors to view our pages here and we want you to enjoy the incredible diversity of the city we call ‘home’. We take it all for granted, and we just love the place – every weekend this is what we have on our doorstep. Just by looking at the amazing photos in this group, I can see that they were taken by people that just love the place too. You don’t get the passion that these photos exude if you don’t love a place!
This group is all about the Brissie lifestyle.
