Addition to group rules

Garth Smith Garth Smith 533 posts

Maybe I just am in a bad mood today but I have added a few new rules.

#9. No selective colouring
#10. No selective colouring
#11. Did I forget to mention no selective colouring
#12. People consistently submitting photos with selective colouring will be seriously considered for expulsion from the group.

regards
Garth

I probably should have added the definition of “consistently” – how about – twice.

How about images that have selective colour?

Just curious…

Darn it Robert! You beat me to it! lol!

Sorry you’re having issues Garth! Hosting can be a real PIA at times!

OK, but how about some selective colouring?

That’s what the delete button is for, click, refresh ones mind, and onto the next image.

ok whoops, that could be me! pout i am sorry if i am one of the ones who is adding to your bad mood. :(
i wish in the ‘submission of art work to groups’, that there was a small & brief dot point re rules; like the ‘not accepting tshirts, no more than 5 art works’ etc. i am finding once i’ve joined several groups that are similar, it is tricky to recall what is permitted & what is not. i don’t know if you know what i mean or not. again i do apologize, you’ve every right to be ticked off. i will be much more observant in future.
here’s to a better day… *hugs

Yes MLabuda you are right, and that is what I have been doing for the last umpteen months.
On EVERY page that I have to go through.
And I am sick of it and I will start deleting people instead of just the photos.
Rules are there to be abided by, not flaunted.
Sometimes the selective colouring is so small that it is easy to miss when you have to go through so many pics.
They know its there… I don’t.
Do you realise that it is not unusual for between 50 and 170 pics to be added to this group per day?

Garth Smith Garth Smith 533 posts

I do know what you mean vampvamp, I do also have that trouble.
Maybe I could change the name of the group to reflect the rules somehow but didnt really want to clumsy up the title.

I’m finding that some other groups do have things in their titles to remind us and it certainly helps a lot! I hate doing the ‘wrong’ thing and appreciate the work the hosts do… but sometimes I can’t remember and have to go back to the group rules to refresh my memory… that can be awkward when you don’t have a lot of time…. just my thoughts… cheers… : ))

PS… I don’t have a problem with this group though… black and white is well…. black and white! It’s when some groups don’t allow nudes or have some other requirement… : ))

Here comes the idiotic question of the day….
What do you mean by selective color?

Garth Smith Garth Smith 533 posts

Hi JR, selective colour is eg, when pic is made black and white but a single poppy is returned to bright red, or a beach ball is coloured in etc.
eg

Thanks. Here’s suggestion. If you take a selective color photo (like of the ones you just showed me) and then put a big red hash mark across it, and then added “no selective color” to the first page of the group description, that might cut down the number of people that do it.
I think sometimes people only read the first page of the group and then click wildly on the next page where it says “Join Group” without reading the rules on the next page.

I’m with you, Garth. I usually don’t like selective coloured images, and they do certainly not fit into the category “black and white”.
Thanks a lot for your hosting work – it is very much appreciated.

LOL. Some will never learn, or read the rules and conditions.

I’m wondering if some people don’t understand what ‘selective colouring’ means. Just a thought.

Strange… One would think that the name “Black and white photography” is clear enough… :)))))

Hey Garth,, we have the same issues in Tone it Down,,,, its a royal pain in the a*s!!!
yes, some people just add to every group,, but how do you explain repeat offenders!!! We track them and ban them,,,,I have sent bmails,, but I dont have time to babysit,,, we view images in large to see those teeny tiny selective colorings that they think will slip by,, Not with my eagel eye LOL!!
I have even rejected fully blown out color!!!!

good luck!!
