  The National Palace, Sintra by Matthew Walters

  Sintra is a UNESCO World Heritage Site, due to its fantastic array of palaces, castles, and general classical architecture. Once the summer home to Portugeuse Royals, the National Palace is now open for visitors. Of Moorish origin, the Palace has undergone many changes. The kitchens (and the 33m conical chimneys) were added in the 15th century.
