Mississinewa 1812 Each year my father (Tim Denny) and I take a “photography trip”. Most commonly we go late in the year for Fall colors. This year we spent a week in Indiana, taking photos at a re-enactment and covered bridges of Parke County. The Battle of the Mississinewa, also known as Mississineway, was an expedition ordered by William Henry Harrison against Miami Indian villages in response to the attacks on Fort Wayne and Fort Harrison in the Indiana Territory. The battle is significant as the first American victory in the War of 1812. The site is near the city of Marion, Indiana. Mississinewa 1812 is not a re-enactment of the battle. It is a period re-enactment that captures the lifestyles and military living in the period 1812. If you ever get a chance I totally recommend the event. Trully enjoyable. Over the next several weeks I will be posting images taken at Mississinewa 1812 along with covered bridges from Parke County, Indiana. Many of you have provided countless comments on my photos from Africa. Thank you all very much. / / I watched American Idol Gives Back the other night. When they showed the scenes from Africa I could almost smell the distinct scents of the cities and slums I visited. It is such a hard smell to describe. I would not know where to begin. / / When they showed scenes of the children crowding the visitors and hanging on Chris Daughtry, it was a bittersweet reminder of my interactions with the children I was able to impact. / / It is one thing to see it on television and another to have experienced it. If more people were able to experience a third world country, I think things would be a little different. / / God only knows why things are the way they are. Some say God is a god for the poor. I stand on God is a God for the humble. What these people lack in material goods, they overflow with spirit of faith, kindness, and love. / / Stop for a minute. Look around you right now. Look at your loved ones. Think about how you let the things of your world get in the way of showing them how much you care. / / The people of Kenya and other countries need our help. Let me tell you this which I have learned first hand. They pray for you and me every day. They pray that Gods Spirit penetrates through all the garbage we let get in the way of a better relationship with God and our families. / / We think of them when a television show airs. Most there dont have television, they pray for us every day. / / God Bless

There are no limits or rules about how many you can put on so feel free to add your work. However, please try not to put on similar ones on the same day. We’re going to aim for no more than 100 pages of artwork – everything in the middle gets lost if there are too many shots.
