Acrylic on Acrylic board. By Kyle Bultman, aged 11. Exploring acrylic painting with some of my students. Kyle used an online image as reference. I helped him with details, as he is just starting out in drawing and painting. In painting the image, we followed a very exacting regime, essentially adopting/adapting the ‘Flemish’ technique as closely as possible. A bit ambitious perhaps, but the students are ‘learning’ and the technique seemed to require less ‘tidying up’ and fixing. The painting in progress/ grey toned ‘underpainting’: Finished

  • Aurora Borealis.Collaboration with Hilary Doughill. by Cynthia Adams

The night was cold and still, Snow lay all around the cabin. Blue light filtered through the crack in the curtains. / Tess and Bob snuggled closer for warmth more than passion. / The dog had been restless all night, whining and moaning at the door. Loathe to move, but afraid it might be an emergency for the dog; Tess climbed quietly out of bed, tossed on a coat, and opened the door. / As she did so, the most beautiful light she had ever seen flooded into the room. She rubbed her eyes, was she dreaming? No she wasn’t. / She stepped outside into the snow and the light mostly Blue, was followed by a ray of Red, then a splash of Yellow, followed by Green, and with these flashes of colour a most magnificent glow of White spread across the sky and came to Earth in rays which sparkled and shone on the snow like tiny diamonds. / It was the most wonderful moment of Tess’ entire life. She bathed in its Glow. The wonderful Aurora Borealis, the Northern Lights and Bob had slept right through it. Aurora Borealis is an Original Oil on Canvas depicting the phenomenon of the Northern Lights. / Many thanks to Hilary Doughill for adding the storyline for this image.Check out her wonderful portfolio on RB,the lady is a wonderful friend and has such talent.

  • Inverness Cathedral by Andy Gibb

Inverness Cathedral, also known as the Cathedral Church of Saint Andrew (1866-69) is a cathedral of the Scottish Episcopal Church situated in the city of Inverness in Highlands, Scotland. It is the seat of the Bishop of Moray, Ross and Caithness, ordinary of the Diocese of Moray, Ross and Caithness. The architect was Alexander Ross, who was based in the city. Construction began in 1866 and was complete by 1869, although a lack of funds precluded the building of the two giant spires of the original design.

For most of us coming to Redbubble was not our first art community we frequented. Most of us have found the ‘Bubble’ to be far better than other art community sites that we used to frequent. This group has been set up for those that used to call Art Wanted home or are looking for former AW’ers because you lost touch with them after they left or you left. Stop in get reconnected with people you knew and cared about, check out their new work here on the Bubble.

Please keep things positive and cheerful. The Bubble has shown that keeping a professional and positive attitude can work in the cyber art community.

1. Only 2 uploads per member per day to the group.
2. Don’t critique an art piece unless explicitly stated by the artist that they want critique.
3. Any questions/suggestions, Bubblemail any moderator.

5. Moderators have final say and there will be no debate on their decisions in public you may wish to get clarification. Please use the Bubblemail system for any clarifications.
