It was snowing heavily in late evening upon our arrival in St Johann, Austria. This lovely lone tree was full of snow and went straight into my must photograph journal, I decided to wait till morning to get the best light. The only thing that stopped my planned photograph, the morning rain. Although this shot was not what I was intending I am happy with the result as the mist did help in isolating the tree. Greeting Cards / Framed Print / Canon 5D, 24-70mm at 70mm, f/11, 1/400 sec, ISO 200. No filters used. A massive amount of dust and hair removed in photoshop, where had my camera been and OMG, how do I stop the sensor getting that dirty? This is a 10 shot panorama taken in the Schlick2000 above Fulpmes in the Stubai valley. / In winter it’s a pretty popular skiing area, in summer it’s a nice place for hiking and enjoying the view of the Stubaier alps. I am standing a bit above the Sennjochhütte and look East, with the Kalkkögel to the left, the Patscherkofel straight ahead (in the back) and the Serles to the right. Behind the Kalkögel you can get to the Axamer Lizum, another popular skiing area near Innsbruck, and another great place for hiking in summer. location / 47°8.1476 N / 11°17.5828 E Canon EOS 40D / Sigma 10-20 EX DC HSM / Hoya ND8 HMC / Manfrotto 724B digi -2,0,+2 f/11 / Photomatix Pro / PTGui

Neiderau, Austria. Down on the valley there was mist, rain miserable skiers. A very quick gondola ride up the top of the mountain and what a transformation, lucky I had my camera. Although the metadata said it was 22.30, I could swear I took this photo in the morning, too much Jagermeister I think. Greeting Cards / Framed Print / Canon 5D, 24-70mm at 28mm, f/11, 1/250 sec, ISO 100. No filters used. Darkened -.4 and saturated by +2 in photoshop. Rattenberg – Austria
This magnificent church was undergoing restoration when we visited. Because and despite the scaffolding we had the “once in a life time” opportunity to see the frescoes up close. The scaffolding included a staircase and an elevator – we took the elevator – which rose to the level where the renovators were working, high up in the dome. There was a further staircase which continued right to the centre top of the dome and views across Vienna. The artists retouching the frescoes were behind the pink tarpaulin on the right.

grenzenlos = boundless yet another shot from the Zugspitze (2.964m). / This time looking towards the Stubaier (left background) and the Oetztaler Alpen (center, right). btw, the Oetztaler Alpen host the most mountains with more than 3.000m in altitude in the Central Alps. / The region around the Großglockner (3.798m > Austria’s highest mountain) and the Ortler (3.905m, Italy) offer higher mountains, but not as many mountains with 3.000+m than the Oetztaler Alpen. location: / 10°59.117’ E / 47°25.264’ N / looking south (field of view – south-west to south-east) Canon EOS 40D / Sigma 10mm 2.8 EX DC HSM Fisheye / 1/800s f/11
