Hanging In There by Terry Hinkle
I was going to call this one Freedom because I was able to forget today what color the human body is “supposed” to be… let go and be creative with the color and shape. This is hard for me. I grew up in the creative world of advertising where there are limitations on how creative you can get. / Not now… not ever again! This is one of my last pieces of 2009, but I see it as a personal creative awakening for 2010. The Divine Feminine will always be a part of my art and this picture shows a very strong woman still “Hanging In There” for just a little while longer until she can begin again to live her most empowered and authentic life. It is time. This is a mixed media piece of marker, pencil, and chalk pastel on cover stock white paper. / / Happy New Year to you all! / May you enjoy a FUN, CREATIVE, and PROSPEROUS year. -Terry
