I found it hard to decide what to do with this image Lorraine.
Yes, you’ve tried to do something a bit different in an area where so many images are made in specific styles, but for me it doesn’t quite come off. The pistil and stamens remain the centre of attention (at least for me), despite now being out of focus, because they make such strong graphic shapes. Because of their positioning (one just touches the edge of the frame, and on the whole they are just slightly off centre), they make the image look poorly cropped. The small area of petal in focus isn’t strong enough to counter this for me (and looks a slightly odd, contorted shape right at the tip).
Because of the above, I couldn’t accept it, but because you had tried to do something different in this area, I left it for the other hosts to consider, rather than rejecting it outright.

I did and thought exactly like Mike, Lorraine.
We do not often discuss images, but very often, we think the same :)
It is a nice photo – but as Mike points out – there are things that just don’t feel quite right (enough).
