Made my way through marsh grasses and more / I saw the fires, heard the music, laughter rang across the lake / I just wanted to join in the festivities / My row boat waited, oars broke the wake. Friends and family were there waiting for me / Stories were told by the warm fires / They pleaded and begged me to sing / Legs went flying in a gleeful dance / Morning came before we had a chance. Sing along, dance away, we were free / For another day. / Hot dogs on a twig, marshmallows oh our sweets / Ribs hurt with laughter, songs will stay in our heads / Memories were made, the earth was our bed. written by linmarie-11/05/2009 11” x 14” watercolor/India ink painting-2009 / “camp” / “camp” / “camp”
/ The 12th and final numberism piece in “Perpetual Motion” . Drawn entirely with the numbers of the clock, 1 – 12. This piece captures the passing of time, and that it is not a moment dying or ending, but rather that life is constantly in motion; changing, growing and offering new possibilities with each passing moment. Original is 19” x 24” and is available at our FrogFaith Gallery at 1216 NW 21st Ave in Portland Oregon. Click images to see larger view.
Ho’okipa Wai’ola / Water is the Essence of Life / O ka lewa i luna, ua pa’aia he lani / In the space above, Heaven is held fast “Above the mountains / the Geese turn into the light again / Painting their black silhouettes on an open sky Sometimes everything has to be inscribed across the heavens / So you can find the one line already written inside you. Sometimes it takes a great sky to find that small bright and indescribable wedge of freedom in your own heart. Sometimes with the bones of the black sticks left when the fire has gone out / someone has written something new in the ashes of your life. You know the place. The one with all the spectacular places and things to see. The place that is surreal yet real. The place where there are dark places you don’t want to go. 2008 Abstract Acrlyic on Canvas 45×42” Yesterday is gone…..Tomorrow is promised to no one….....We have Today, and maybe not even….....you know we have earth quakes here, sometimes…...
When the first of light gently creeps across the land, gently pinking the landscape, a new feeling of life begins. Animals and birds scurrying about for the first meal. Singing and talking all about. As the morning lightens and day begins to warm, we know we have begun another day of renewal and joy. Created in Fractal Explorer. Featured in: / PEACE, LOVE & TRANQUILITY November 2009
2008 Guitar Sculpture 47×38x3” / From Corazon Gitano Series / Wood, Plexiglass, Acrylic, Abstract, Stain Glass Effect. This was the firth guitar sculpture I bulit in this series there were 7 built. And one that I have yet to finish, its more of a mobile, as it is going to hang from the ceiling, I hope. / Carpentery has always intrigued me, especially Japanese carpentery these sculptures are a long way from Japanese carpentery, but you get the idea. It was alot of fun buiding them, and very relaxing, as I get away from painting, painting, painting, and I come back to my first love…..Painting with a Passion. / To me painting is a passion, a love affair, a lover, a mistress, a Goddess, she teases, she intrigues, never bores me, and always fascinates me and makes me work hard and always leaves me exhausted. And when I don’t feel like that, I don’t paint….....Simple like that.

Welcome to the Art Nouveau Group.
Art Nouveau is an international style of art, architecture and design that is characterised by it’s highly-stylised, flowing, curvilinear designs often incorporating floral and other plant-inspired motifs as an homage to the beauty of the natural world.
Some of the artists, architects, designers and artisans who worked in the Art Nouveau style include Aubrey Beardsley, Louis Comfort Tiffany, Renee Lalique, Henri de Toulouse-Lautrec, Alphonse Mucha, Gustav Klimt, Charles Rennie Mackintosh, Antoni Gaudi, Samuel Yellin and Frank Lloyd Wright.
Art Nouveau as a period spanned the 1880s to 1914 and is closely aligned with the Arts & Crafts Movement, with many artists working across the two styles. The term Art Nouveau (New Art) was first used when describing the work of a group of Belgian artists (Les Art Nouveau).
.
If you enjoy Art Nouveau and the Arts & Crafts Movement, or work in these styles, you’re very welcome to join this group.
This group exists to showcase your works in the Art Nouveau and Arts & Crafts styles and to increase our understanding and knowledge of Art Nouveau and the associated Arts & Crafts Movement. By limiting uploads to a maximum of 2 works per day your work will be much more evenly distributed throughout the gallery and more likely to be appreciated by your viewers.
