An ordinary city building in Melbourne’s CBD is transformed by the reflected glow of a late-autumn sunrise. It’s not a building I would normally shoot, but even a steel-and-concrete office block suddenly (and briefly) takes on a whole new character when the angle of the sun is just right. This was shot in 2008. I do not crop, enhance or post-edit post-edit my images in any way. This was shot with a Pentax K100D, using a Sigma 70-300mm lens. F9.5, 1/750 sec, ISO 200, focal length 300mm. Featured in ART IN MATH, November 2009. Featured in UNIQUE BUILDINGS OF THE WORLD, November 2009. 73-3924
This was made for my daughter three years ago on the date she went to find to out what sex her baby was. Not knowing which sex it was I used the two soft colors . A soft peach for baby girl and soft green for a boy. I remember how excited I was waiting for the answer. Sure I wanted a girl because she already had a boy. Being a granny is the best thing ever in my my life. The kids are so wonderful. I love how I can do just about anything with them because “that’s what Grannies do”. / I hope you enjoy it. Good night and thank you for stopping in and viewing my work. / ~ / Therese / UF4

I remember as a kid, visiting my grandparents in the South. Being from Wyoming, I loved seeing the fireflies come out at night. My uncle was only four years older than I was so we would have great fun chasing and capturing the fireflies in a jar. Created in Incendia using a photo taken by a friend and made to look like an evening sky in Photoshop before using it as a background.

Math is Art and Art is Math
This is a group that focuses on the connection between math and art.
Fractals…Spirals…Cubes…Spheres…Blocks…
Curves that look as though they came straight off a trigonomic function, or circular function…
I have always loved math and found a well worked equation to be quite beautiful…that is how I feel about art. The numbers tell me everything…position, hue, saturation, lightness…it’s always about numbers for me…how about you??
