Tell us about your medium, how did you get started why do you like what you like and why and how did you get into anime?

Well I go for the traditional medium,
I use a mechanical pencil 0.5mm and Fineliners 0.3mm and 0.8mm
I then colour them in with Crayola and Derwent pencils.^^
I have only just started playing around with digital.
I started drawing almost as soon as I could, but I really got serious when Pokemon came out when I was in about year 4?
I was in a pokemon drawing club with two of my friends. So funny..

I’ve always preferred mechanicals myself, never have to sharpen them :) What are you using for digital?

I like Mechanical pencils for that reason too… lol
I also use the faber-castell drawing pencils and their color pencils
Now I use my trusty drawing tablet, opencanvas, photoshop, and on occasion serifdraw plus 4… and my scanner… lol

Hmmm… opencanvas looks pretty cool, it’s now on my list of software to demo.

lol, here is my list of caveman materials:

mechanical pencils
-extra fine V5 to ink
(don’t laugh!) plain old microsoft paint to color

I scan them in and use the GIMP program to put in the transparent parts

*GIMP is totally free by the way, fairly easy to use for those who don’t have PS

I use either HB or 2B pencils, old-style ;p black gel pens for fine-lining, and WHSmiths own colouring pencils XD not very advanced am I? PC programs are Paint Shop Pro 7, occasionally photoshop.
I got into ‘anime’ when I was about 4, but I thought they were just cartoons, I didn’t really understand that they were different. I only realised they were ‘anime’ when I met my friend Hannah in year seven when she explained it to me, so ever since then I’ve been drawing pretty much every day

just to let everyone know… SerifDraw Plus is a simple vector program if you don’t have Adobe Illustrator… and its free

Cool! I’ve been wanting to do vector stuff for a while, but didn’t want to dump a grand on Illustrator :)
