This is a mixed media collage’; all elements are handmade. It’s one of several mixed media collage works I did using recycled book pages. (during my Altered Book phase). I drew the crows and painted them on recycled thick paper, then cut them out and collaged them onto the base. The moon was made with walnut ink staining and acrylics over several layers of paper. The textured maple leaf is my own design. It is a layered papers, painted and stained leaf—mixed media. BEST VIEWED LARGE TO SEE DETAIL WORK. :) This art work has been FEATURED in the following groups: “Collage with Traditional Mediums” “Altered Art, Collage & Assemblage” “Animal Fantasy & Whimsy” “Once In A Blue Moon” “Shoot The Moon” group

3D concertina collage book
Card size abstract collage using various cut and torn papers and a shell form. Theme and colors are reminiscent of the beach.
This is a 51/2”X7” Collage from a series of Collages titled “Women around the world through time”. I love traditional costume and fashion, and I also have an affinity for foreign culture. Combine this with my love of papers, paper arts, found and handmade objects and you get my formula for the collages you will find in this series. The focal piece of art in each were created by me and drawn onto a shrink material and measure about 1”X2”. This piece contains several layers of paper, acetate and handmade papers, along with confetti and diamond dust. The 3d onion domes were just a bit of kirigami that I thought added some nice dimension and texture to the piece. It looks so much better in person than the scanner or camera can capture.

An assemblage piece that has grown out of other pieces around the same theme: family lineage. Collage of print images, copies of old family photos, acetate overlays made on my copier, framed with small rocks and acrylic colored gloss medium. 16×20 on canvas. A piece very dear to my heart. Amazingly I found a beautiful celtic tune by the same title.

collage – A picture or design created by adhering such basically flat elements as newspaper, wallpaper, printed text and illustrations, photographs, cloth, string, etc., to a flat surface, when the result becomes three-dimensional, and might also be called a relief sculpture / construction / assemblage. Most of the elements adhered in producing most collages are “found” materials. Introduced by the Cubist artists, this process was widely used by artists who followed, and is a familiar technique in contemporary art.
“Collage” was originally a French word, derived from the word coller, meaning “to paste.”
Assemblage sculpture – A three-dimensional composition made of various materials such as found objects, paper, wood, and textiles.
While I admire quality photo composites of many layers, if the photo collage is the work in its entirety, this is not the group for you. Photo collages can be part of a larger work, but aren’t the focus of this particular group. You may want to check out some sister groups such as Mixed Media or The Art of Photoshop
