Each of these answers are expansions of the Group Rules:

As outlined in the group mission statement, we want you to [01] ... upload art (photos, drawings, writing, poems, etc) that has Adelaide or South Australia as the subject or location of the piece.

Whilst the moderators have the last word on what most befits this statement, we hope you’ll avoid images like:

1. Images that heavily display advertising for businesses, even if they are Adelaide born. Sure, we all love a drop of the cold beer that is lovingly brewed right here in the Adelaide centre, but until they give us a few slabs, why would we give them free advertising?
2. Kittens, Puppies, Toys, Babys…. There’s surely a better group for these ‘cute’ shots. Unless you can put them into a setting that says ‘Adelaide/SA’!
3. Badly taken shots. This mostly includes shots that are either over or under exposed (completely wrong ISO. If we can’t see or determine the subject/setting, it most likely will be rejected.
NEW (7 Sept 2008) 4. Overlayed Text / Religious Holidays. Just because you took the shot somewhere in South Australia does NOT make it appropriate. The aim is to present images that best enhance the features and landscape of South Australia. Therefore all images submitted need to be WITHOUT text, borders, and obvious overlayed images (except where it is a compilation image).

[2] ... For works to be accepted, they must include location they were shot in the image’s description and/or title.

This needs to be specific. ‘In the middle of a paddock i saw...’ or ‘today we went whale watching...’ is not enough information. Take a look at what your fellow artists are adding. Usually it’s as simple as…
Wheat Silo’s, Balaclava, South Australia,
Whale Fins, Victor Harbour, SA

Some people add a quick blurb on the weather, the camera equipment, or the fellow redbubblers that went with them! This is always a good idea.

Please note: Submissions without this information may be declined, unless it is plainly obvious to the Moderator as to the location.

[3] ... Your work may have been offensive or unsuitable for children’s eyes.

Whilst the rest of the world may be very liberated in their PERSONAL views to online presentation of humans in the ‘el naturale’ state, the Moderators of Adelaide/SA prefer not to present work that would possibly turn people away from viewing Redbubble.com.

We like to believe that all our artists would also consider the very-young generation when choosing suitable work to upload.

Yes, there are exceptions to this rule. We are not prudes, but some people are parents. We respect that. Your ongoing compliance is appreciated.

[4] ... Because you submitted more than three image uploads in one day.

So far this has not been a problem. And in most cases, we are very lenient … Mainly because those that cross this line have submitted some amazing photographs. IMHO.

NOTE: These answers may be amended/abridged/removed. Further examples to be added as rejections occur.

HI,
Im new and a little confused and hoping someone can help. I submitted some photos to your group yesterday. Tonight when i dropped in on my bubble page i received notification that the images had been rejected by your group, the reason give was….

“We think it isn’t in line with one or more of the group guidelines. If you’re able to make changes to your work so it meets these guidelines, we’ll be happy for you to resubmit the work for consideration.”

A few notifications lower there were messages telling me that my images had been accepted, some of them the same as those had weren’t.

This has left me a little confused as to why the images aren’t in line with the groups guidelines, and what needs to be done to meet them…. or are they just not good enough?

I’m also confused about the same images getting both notifications, and dont know if any are accepted now..

I was wondering if I somehow uploaded the same images twice.

If someone could help clarify this for me I would really appreciate it.

Thanks Jane

Jane,
I’m unaware of the images that were rejected, but I can tell you this:

“We think it isn’t in line with one or more of the group guidelines. If you’re able to make changes to your work so it meets these guidelines, we’ll be happy for you to resubmit the work for consideration.”

This is one of four standard reply lines that Moderators of groups are given to use to respond when submissions don’t quite meet the standards set down by the group.
We know that it seems a little impersonal, so we do try to tell artists when we find it doesn’t say enough.

So the important questions to ask now are:
1. How many images did you submit? I ask this because we accept a maximum of 10 works from each artist. This is not per day, but the total allowed.
2. Does the description field include the location within South Australia that the shot was taken? (Mandatory Requirement)
3. Do you feel they are your best work? Would you be willing to print it and put on the wall of your home?

The answers to those questions should help explain why your work was not accepted on this occasion.

On a related note, are you aware you have two images precisely the same within your gallery? River Gold and River Gold . The only difference is the URL that tells us the location of the image.

In answer the the questions asked.
1. No I didnt load more then ten in this group. I think it was 4, but I did discover that I have loaded the same photo twice, by accident, but Im not sure how to remove it. Would this be the reason.

2. I did put the location in, which was on the River Murray, around Bow Hill, between Mannum and Swan Reach. SA

3. I am very happy with the photos, and would be proud to put them on my wall. lol
Is there a way to check what photos, if any have been accepted by your group.

thanks

Sorry about the long delay.
1. Appears you found out how to delete duplicate image from your gallery. No, wouldn’t be reason.
2. Good.
3. OK.
Technically, no. But since you have such a small collection all you need do is go back through them in EDIT mode to see which still have the box ticked in the group-lists beneath your upload.
