AlexMac AlexMac 99 posts

Hi there, just wondering if anyone is interested in doing a day trip to Kuitpo for the fungi and my fave – red with white spot fairy mushies :0) I will find out the best time for them and post it here if anyone wants to come along, we can car pool and share petrol costs…let me know if you are interested

Hi Alex. Tracy and I would be keen. I dont have a macro lens but I’m sure I could rustle up a few good shots up there.

wow this is great, im glad people are interested in joining me, I will get on to it today and start organising this, From memory may is the best time for these fungi, anyone have dates they cant make it? warm coats and flat shoes are a must though, it gets darned chilly out there, when I was there last, we stayed in a cabin and tents with the camera club, what a wonderful weekend that was, also if you have a tripod, bring that along, as sometimes its hard to balance and hold the camera while standing on all the loose ground and twigs. Oh would anyone mind if i bring some people from my photography class from Marden college? or would you prefer this to be a RB only meet?....was also thinking we could maybe do a BBQ for lunch….any suggestions welcomed. once again, thanx guys for showing interest in this meet :0)

I would love to be in this one since I missed the last one. Good chance to use the macro lens (has not been out of the cupboard for a while)

Sounds wonderful… I’ve never been.

Personally a Sunday would be better for me, for a full daytrip. (I’m free all of May except the 18th.)

I have something on for Sunday 18th April. Well, that the only one I remember. I’m sure Tracy will tell me I’ve got other stuff on too but I’ll really try to be there.

Yep, MAY seems like a good month already.
Saturday seems to suit most people, early start, late afternoon finish.
Bring the photo-class, they might teach us something new. ;D
Boots, jackets, brimmed-hats, check check check!
Looking forward to this now!

Stephen, Im afraid you forgot to mention taking the umbrella’s – the way our weather has been unpredictable of late, anything is possible hey…If anyone cant make it on a saturday as seems to be the preferred day, just let me know, as im sure some people wouldnt mind having an alternate date to go, Im also sure as any photographer knows, sometimes they dont get the perfect shot, so the opportunity is open to come along again on the other date to re capture – the one that got away :0)...anyways, I should have some dates tomorrow late after noon after i finish school so i will post here and then we can choose what day suits our individual availability. Have a great night fellow Bubblers
Alex

dont they have a paintball range in kuitpo?

Janet Leadbeater Janet Leadbeater 9 posts

We have soccer slap bang in the middle of the day on Saturdays, so unless you can wait until the first weekend in June when we have a bye, then we can’t make it :(

AlexMac AlexMac 99 posts

Ok, I have got in touch with the good people at kuitpo and they informed me, we have to get at least an inch rain for the fungi to really come out, so c’mon fellow bubblers, lets all get together and do a rain dance :0) will keep you all posted if the fungi come out earlier ok
